Welcome to The Groom’s Cottage, a cosy and luxurious retreat for two. Here you will find the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy all that the Lake District has to offer.

Set in the courtyard of The Coach House, once part of The Old Rectory, with its own walled garden, the cottage would originally have been home to the Groomsman who was in charge of the Rectory stables.

Now it offers a charming mix of modern day living and traditional character with its own unique furnishings and personal touches.

"A lovely little find! This cottage is truly beautiful and has been completed tastefully to a very high standard. The fixtures, fittings and furnishing make this cottage feel that extra special. The attention to detail has clearly been thought about and any fell walker would really appreciate the books of Wainwright on offer for you to read. This cottage provides you with all you need under a small cosy roof and is well equipped for your stay. The added bonus to this stunning property - The log burner. This was great to light and sit and relax near and In comfort after a days walk/climb of the near by fells. The added little extra to our stay was of a beautifully homemade chocolate cake, a lovely surprise and very delicious indeed. Debs offers a variety of extras for a charge and we opted for the breakfast option and this did not disappoint. There is also a small honesty larder offering a small selection of jams and other items for you to buy, we bought two jars of homemade jam. We would recommend this beautiful, stunning property in a good location completed to a very high standard. Thanks Debs, we hope to return in the near future."
