"Wow the Groom’s cottage is amazing, what a lovely cosy cottage. All the furnishings are beautiful. Everything is so perfect, lovely and clean and there is everything you need in the cottage. Just love it so much! The area is so beautiful, we are having lovely days in the Lake District and the weather has been so nice. Thank you so much for the lovely cake and bread and eggs when we arrived, your cake was beautiful. We will be returning thank you so much"

Mr & Mrs Stitt

"We had an exceptional stay at the Groom's Cottage. It was a lovely base to explore a quieter area of the Lake District. The cottage is extremely stylish and cosy - perfect for a romantic getaway. It was a great location - walking distance to the local pub and tearooms and a scenic drive away from Keswick and other notable landmarks. Would highly recommend."

Emily Smith

"Absolutely perfect cottage, like a 5 star boutique hotel. The cottage which is bigger than we expected, is so stylishly decorated, well presented and spotlessly clean. The kitchen has far more than just the basics, like a home away from home, Deb's had baked a Victoria Sponge and left eggs milk, tea and coffee which was fab. The landscape surrounding the cottage is absolutely stunning and feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle but Keswick is just 25 mins drive away with shops and restaurants. Debs was a really fantastic host, very quick to respond to messages very friendly in her communications. I can't recommend this property enough, I wish our trip had allowed us to stay longer and I would most definitely return! "

Sarah & Jack

"What a fantastic little hidden gem! All the comforts of home in such an idilic setting. The cottage has been beautifully restored by Debs and Paul with high quality fixtures and fittings. One added bonus is being able to preorder luxury hampers and goodies for special occasions etc . Fantastic walks literally from the front door of the cottage ranging from Binsey which gives 360 degrees views including Scotland and the mighty Skidaw , just perfect for the walkers among you. Would definitely return to this pretty comfortable cottage."

Leon & Siobhan

"The cottage is so lovely! We were so blown away with how beautifully the cottage was finished, the photos don’t do it justice! Although close to a farm, we didn’t hear any noise from there and it’s ideally located with good walking from the cottage. Debs was great to communicate with, we ordered the breakfast which was delicious and she answered all questions prior to arrival, we let ourselves in and the house was ready and warm! We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend! Thanks Debs!!"

Nick & Jess

"We spent a blissful week at this beautiful cottage and what a delight it was. Simply gorgeous inside and out - everything from the bespoke furniture to the honesty larder and Deb’s delicious cake on arrival. If you’re looking for peace and quiet away from it all then this is the place to stay. Would highly recommend and are definitely looking forward to a return visit. Thank you Debs and Paul"

Mr & Mrs Newton

"My husband and I have just returned from our mini moon at the Grooms cottage. After a busy and hectic wedding weekend, it was the perfect retreat! Debs was so accommodating right from the start and even made us an amazing cake accompanied by a bottle of fizz and a lovely message. The cottage is cosy, immaculately clean and has all the beautiful features of a Lake District cottage. As always we were really sad to leave. Thank you once again for helping us have the perfect start to married life xxx "

Mr & Mrs Ashford

"Debs, Thank you so so much! What a fantastic place, we have utterly enjoyed staying at your cottage and have thoroughly been smitten by it and the area (the views are stunning). Brilliantly fitted out and wonderfully comfy. And the cheese board was to die for - that Brie is unbelievable! Can't wait to stay again. "

"My wife and I have just returned home after a lovely weekend at the cottage. The place was fantastic, super stylish and very cosy! Debs was a great host and she was even thoughtful enough to leave us a delicious cake. Debs also left us a 'things to do' list which was really helpful when exploring the local areas. We would highly recommend staying at the cottage if you're looking for a relaxing break."

"We had an amazing stay. For anybody looking for a lovely quiet weekend away, this cottage is the perfect choice. The location is quiet and remote with lovely scenery and a number of nice walks in the immediate vicinity. The pictures of the cottage are a perfect illustration of the cosy and warm environment that's provided. The cottage is extremely well furnished and we found everything that we needed was available during our stay. Check in and check out was extremely easy and the cottage was very clean upon arrival. Overall this was the perfect long weekend and we would definitely return"

Chris Gilpatrick

"The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed - it was pretty much perfect. "

"Fantastic place that meets all the expectation set from the description and pictures. The Grooms Cottage has a homely feel that made feel warmly welcomed for our entire stay. Deb was fantastic and responsive in our communication and appeared only to happy to help with any questions we had. Would recommend The Grooms Cottage to anyone considering a stay and we hope to book again in the near future. "

Rick Pitman

"We wanted a modern place in a quiet and beautiful area of the Lake District, and Grooms Cottage fit this criteria perfectly. The pictures do not do it justice! Whilst it is a small place, it's very cosy and big enough for two people. The garden is quite big, and full of chirping birds. The area is very, very quiet, apart from the odd cow mooing and a tractor going past. Phone service was limited (as can be expected in the Lakes!), but the WiFi of the cottage was amazing! There is everything you could need, including a comfortable bed, great kitchen with modern appliances, and a modern wet room. One highlight was the gorgeous cake and bread that greeted us when we arrived! Both were wonderful and delicious, and it added a personal touch to Grooms Cottage. Ultimately this place is wonderful, and we would definitely love to stay again! Thank you for having us!!"

Andy & Rosie

"We went back to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary which is later this year. We had the most amazing week! We relaxed, ate the scrummy cake that was waiting for us and sat in the garden. We ventured out a few times for afternoon tea at Armathwaite Hall, a walk at Whinlatter, retail therapy in Carlisle and a potter around Keswick. We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. It is absolutely wonderful! We hope we can stay again."

Mr & Mrs Blake

"We had a fabulous weekend at The Grooms Cottage. We walked in to a fabulous homemade cake and we also got a starter pack for the log fire which was great. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and a gorgeous location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend to others wanting a quiet homely romantic stay away. "

Mr & Mrs Bartley

"My Husband and I spent a week at Grooms cottage for our honeymoon & Christmas. As soon as we arrived I knew we had found the perfect place. Deb's & Paul have put so much effort into every little detail and it shows. the decor is lovely & the furniture, especially the bedframe is amazing. We were lucky enough to have 7 mild December days, however it was still too cold to enjoy the beautiful garden. We would love to return in the summer months to sit outside in the sunshine. Thankyou so much for an amazing stay, Sarah & Simon xxx "

Sarah & Simon

"Thankyou for a fantastic stay. We loved the cottage, the location and the little extras on arrival really started our holiday on a high. Excellent host who communicated promptly and clearly. All amenities needed in cottage including dishwasher, washing machine and coffee machine. The entire place was sparkling clean. Local pub with excellent food within very short walk. Nice recommended walks straight from cottage door. Safe, large bike storage provided with good road cycling from cottage. Definitely recommended.”"

Jenny & Matt

"We chose to book The Groom's Cottage in for a quiet weekend in the countryside and we were not disappointed. The location is fantastic if you are looking for a remote getaway - Uldale is a really small village but very picturesque and relaxing. There is a fantastic pub, The Snooty Fox, about 5 minutes walk from the cottage - we had a really great meal here, the food was excellent and the hosts were very friendly. It's about a 25 minute drive to Keswick which has numerous cafes and pubs - we enjoyed the atmosphere in The Dog and Gun here. The cottage itself is gorgeous - it's decor suits the area perfectly and is stylish yet really cosy. Not only this, but everything was immaculate and extremely clean. The cottage has all the necessary amenities and more and we also appreciated the coffee machine and really enjoyed having the wood fire lit. Debs has instructions that cover how to use everything in the cottage which was really helpful. She had also left a basket of home grown apples and a lovely Victoria sponge cake - these were really thoughtful touches which enhanced our experience. We would definitely stay again at The Groom's Cottage, it ticked every box and exceeded our expectations. Thank you Debs"

Josh Sutton

"We arrived to a lovely Victoria sponge made by Debs, in front of the cosy stove fire. We explored Keswick, Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake and The Wildlife Reserve, which were all within a 20 minute drive of the cottage. After our expeditions, the cottage was perfect to come back to relax and recharge! All the necessities were stocked and provided by Debs which made our stay even more easy going. Debs was really welcoming and easy to contact if we needed anything. Thank you for our wonderful, stress free stay.. We’d highly recommend the Groom’s Cottage, and we’ll be back for sure!"

Brad Lynch

"Fantastic weekend stay over at Groom's cottage. Debs was an attentive host, easy communications and left us a delicious Victoria sponge on arrival. Requested the salmon and eggs breakfast with bagels breakfast; everything was fresh and ideal. Cosy, stylish, sleek and warm. Ideal for a quiet weekend. TV does have a Netflix option so if you have a login no need for DVDs or HDMI cable. Perfect to cosy upto next to the fire! Secluded, quite village so make sure you buy your food beforehand however we managed to get a table at the local pub which is a 2 minute walk. Fantastic food. Overall really recommend for a relaxing weekend. Thanks Debs"

Mr & Mrs Gani

"Beautifully decorated cottage in which to relax and be free from the intrusion of the "mobile phone". Off the main tourist track but within easy reach of the Lakes, therefore very peaceful. Welcoming eggs, milk, cake on arrival. The cream tea and packed lunches we ordered from Debs were excellent; highly recommended. Very good value for money."

Mr & Mrs West

"We had a fantastic stay over Christmas. Amazing little cottage in a quiet part of the Northern Lakes. Beautifully fitted out, and spotlessly clean. Communication with Debs was perfect and we would definitely love to come back! "
